Helping Animal Shelters The Ellen DeGeneres Way!

Posted on Updated on

For those of you who don’t know me, I love animals. I strongly believe that we should treat them with respect and not harm them. So that is the basis for today’s post.

The other day, I was supposed to be writing a pitch for my client when I became just a little distracted about what Ellen was going to do on her show. I was hoping she was going to have more cat videos to share and then out of nowhere I had an amazing idea. I know that Ellen loves animals, so I thought of a new segment she could have on her show. My idea involves helping local animal shelters with adoptions through her show.

There are two ways I thought this could work:ellen dog collar

The first way could be to have someone that works for a local animal shelter go on the show with several dogs from the shelter and talk about the pets that they brought. They could keep them in a dog or cat pen and Ellen could invite people from the audience that might be interested in adopting on the spot to go on stage while the person from the animal shelter gives more information. To make it even better Ellen could give away pet collars with her face on them to anyone who adopted a pet on her show. She could also say that anyone who adopts a pet from that certain shelter or certain shelters would also get Ellen Degeneres pet collars for their adopted animals.

The second way I thought of, is to have a pet of the week or month or whatever. Ellen could have the dog or cat on her show and encourage people to adopt her pick  and if they do they can also have a pet collar with Ellen’s face on it. The pet could be in her opening monologue, it could help her interview her guests, she let some audience members hold on to it during the show, or any number of other things. I also thought an Ellen pet hoodie would be cute.

I figured this would be a good idea because she cares so much about animals and celebrity endorsements help promote ideas and products so why not pets who need homes? I love animals and if I could I would buy a farm somewhere and adopt all of them, but I can’t so for now I try to help them with my ideas.
